Riders seek support

Equestrian riders will be looking to improve a local equine pound.

The Cayman Islands Equestrian Federation will be hosting a Fundraising Fun Show at the Equestrian Centre on 8 September from 3.30pm to 5.30pm.

All proceeds will be used for the redevelopment, refurbishment and expansion of the equine pound at the Agricultural Grounds in conjunction with the Department of Agriculture. The federation is hoping to undertake and complete all of the building works during the month of October.

Among the festivities on offer in September are barrel, bare back and flag racing along with pole bending/cup collecting. Interested participants must be a current federation member.

News of the fun show comes after a busy year for equestrian in Cayman that saw events like the Caribbean Equestrian Association’s 2012 Junior Show Jumping competition feature local riders such as Polly Serpell.

Volunteers are being sought to assist with the planning and organisation. For more information, contact [email protected]
