Three children recently gave a belated Christmas present to the dogs and cats housed at the Cayman Islands Humane Society.
Brother and sister Bradley, 6, and Taylor Walsh-DaCosta, 9, together with Esme Claybourne, 9, decided to give back to the community by raising money for the shelter over the Christmas break. They presented their donation of $203 on Monday, 30 Dec.
The children went door to door to sell their homemade Christmas cards, lemonade, and cake pops, for 50 cents to $1 each. The children had challenged themselves to make at least $200.
Aiming to continue giving back, the children have set a new fundraising goal of $300 to benefit the Humane Society, by selling treats over school breaks.
