The RCIPS Criminal Investigation Department has launched an investigation following an alleged robbery at the Jungle Bar in Trafalgar Place on West Bay Road.
The 911 Emergency Communications Department received a call at approximately 11.15pm Tuesday from staff reporting that a man had entered the bar with what appeared to be a handgun and demanded cash from the bartenders.
Staff told detectives that they handed over an undisclosed sum of money and the man left, running towards the rear of the complex.
The offender is described as tall, of medium build, and wearing dark coloured clothing.
At the time of the incident two female bartenders and a male DJ were present in the bar. No one received any injuries during the course of the incident. An area search was carried out and no-one was found matching the description of the suspect. An investigation is under way.
