Cayman cake mission a heavy one

Heavy Cake Company is launching its first product – an attractively packaged cassava cake that stays fresh without refrigeration.

‘We are very excited about this product. This is the first time Cayman has ever seen a delicious cassava cake that stays fresh for six weeks,’ said Vanessa Gilman, the young Caymanian company owner.

The cake’s launch began 17 September at Foster’s Food Fair at The Strand shopping plaza. Customers received free samples and tasted for themselves what the excitement is all about. Following suit within a week, shoppers at Hurley’s Marketplace and Kirk Supermarket also received samples, states a press release.

Shoppers will discover that great taste and lasting freshness are just two of the product’s many benefits – they will also be drawn to the product’s vibrant & informative packaging. Delighting locals & tourists alike, the box features a colourful painting of a quaint old-time Caymanian house. It also offers information on the Cayman Islands as well as details about the cassava plant and heavy cake.

‘Finally, a truly Caymanian product has received the attention it deserves, right down to the packaging,’ remarked Mrs. Gilman. ‘Normally it’s a problem to find genuine Caymanian products anywhere, but we intend to change that. Our cassava cake is just the start of things to come.’
