Cayman Airways Swim Meet set for this weekend

The Cayman Airways Sprint Meet will be held this Saturday, Oct 15, at the Lions Aquatic Center.

The start time will be 9am for the meet, with 58 events in the standard age-group format. Events of all four strokes will be either 25 or 50 metres, age appropriate, followed by 100 metre Individual Medley events. One lucky meet participant will win a Cayman Airways ticket in a random drawing. Cayman Airways has long been a solid supporter of Cayman Swimming, from these developmental meets to the Olympic level.

The public is encouraged to come out and support, refreshments will be available at a concession stand. Time permitting, there may be a strictly fun Relay Race involving swimmers, parents and spectators. Sign up will be at the meet.

Run by Stingray Swim Club, the meet will be fully officiated.

Stingray Swim Club recently initiated a ‘burner’ format, a developmental tool for the newest competitive swimmers, as held recently, i.e. the Cable & Wireless Burner. Next on the competitive swimming calendar is the Mike Lockwood Memorial Pirates Week Meet, Nov 4-6, a full meet with all events, with competition coming from Jamaica.
