Jasmine Palliative & Hospice Care will hold its annual Flag Day coin drive on 6 and 7 March. Over the course of these two days, approximately 300 volunteers will take to the streets of Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman collecting donations to support free palliative and hospice care for families across the Cayman Islands.
Jasmine provides free palliative support, hospice care and bereavement services to families facing the challenges of serious illness. Flag Day remains the non-profit’s largest fundraiser, last year raising over $120,000.
Fundraising Assistant Stef Prieto said, “It is inspiring to see the community come together each year to support Jasmine during Flag Day. The success of this event relies on the generosity of many – from the volunteers giving their time, to the stores and banks hosting collection points, to the corporate supporters who match donations, and of course, all the individuals who give. Many participants share how Jasmine has touched their lives, and it’s always incredible to witness the positive ripple effect of our care throughout the community.”

Corporate matchers
Several collection locations are supported by corporate matchers, including Scotiabank, Carey Olsen, RBC Royal Bank, Nova/CML, Seven Mile Clinic, Davenport, KPMG, Property Cayman, Kensington, Global Captive Management, Rawlinson and Hunter, Health City Cayman Islands, and the Water Authority. For a third consecutive year, Dart will match all donations collected in Camana Bay, doubling the impact of community contributions.
With over 300 volunteer shifts to fill, Jasmine is encouraging community members to sign up and help make this year’s Flag Day a success. To volunteer for a two-hour shift, visit jasmine.ky or email [email protected]
