There are 11 species of herons in the Cayman Islands, including the green heron. These birds can be found throughout the Cayman Islands and frequent both salt and fresh water. This one was spotted at low tide on Frank Sound beach on a Sunday afternoon, likely hungry and hunting for crabs – and not bothered at all about being caught on camera.
