There was great excitement in the air at the airport on the 22nd at about 2 p.m. when the C.B.A. plane scheduled to bring Santa Claus and his attendants, the Fairy and the Clown, to visit the children of Grand Cayman circled the airfield. The two prizes for decorated vehicles were awarded to the cars of Mr. & Mrs. A.B. Bush and Mr. & Mrs. A.L. Thompson. At the time of the judging the truck entered by Cayman Drug Ltd. had not arrived but this proved to be so beautiful that a special prize was awarded to them.

The judges were Mrs. O.H. Miller, Rev. John Lord and Dr. Edlin Merren. A Band of Cayman's musicians were on hand to play 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town', "Jingle Bells' etc.

When Santa came out of the plane he was welcomed very officially by His Honour the Administrator and he presented Mrs. Cumber with a Christmas Gift and a bouquet. The Hadsphaltic truck on which Santa toured the town was delightfully decorated to represent Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer and was complete with antlers, eyes, ears, and a blinking red light on the tip of his nose. This masterpiece was the handiwork of Atlee Bodden, Helen Horsfall, Lindsay Cook, Mary Powers and Mr. Gunner who drove the truck. The procession completed its tour at the Princess Royal Park where a very large crowd gathered and had great fun catching the candies and Yo-yo's that were flying everywhere. This was a wonderful afternoon and all parents owe a debt of gratitude to the people who put so much into the planning of this event which gave the children (and many adults!) so much pleasure.
