James Anthony Bodden, son of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Bodden of West Bay, happily celebrates his birthday on the 4th. Returning to her old home has been Mrs. Iris Rivers, who now resides in U.S. and her 2 granddaughters Sabrina and Joyce from Ja. Mrs. Rivers left here 21'yrs.. ago, and made a few short visits in that time. They spent a very enjoyable Christmas holiday with relatives, and she is very much impressed with the improvements in the Island.

Mrs. Rivers is buying land here and may become a Caymanian again. They left on the 7th for Ja. Mr. Allenby Bodden is here visiting relatives. He left here 24 yrs. ago, and thinks the island has made great improvements.

He will be here for a fortnight having arrived on the 3rd. Mr. Norman Ebanks and son Jeffrey left on the 6th for their home in Port Arthur, having spent one week with their relatives. Leaving the same day was Mr. & Mrs. Edward Ebanks for N.Y. Capt. Thomas Henning called in here on the "Inagua Wave" on his way to Ja. on the 31st. He and his wife happily celebrated their 23rd wedding Anniversary on the 1st. Mr. Woolsey Ebanks left on the 7th for a job in U.S. having legal admission. Mrs. Mary Purdue and her son Charles spent 2 weeks with her relatives and returned to U. S. on the 6th. Messrs.. Blandford Banks, Cardell Powery and Sherdon Smith returned to U.S. on the 6th. Miss Anna Dean Powery returned on the 7th to Ja. to resume her studies at Shortwood College.

Mr. James Anglin left on the 8th to take a job with N.B.C. Messrs. George Ebanks N. W. Point and Davis Borden arrive.

on the 8th from U.S. We regret to report the death of Gladston Hydes 35 years of age which occurred on the 8th at the Hospital. He had been ailing for quite a while, and was treated by Drs. in Ja., but they could not help. Surviving are his parents Mr. & Mrs. Dudley Hydes. his wife Nora, 2 sons and 3 daughters, 2 brothers and one sister. The funeral was conducted by Pastor Fossie Arch in the Church of God and his body laid to rest in the W. Bay Cemetery. Christmas holidays here have now returned to their various homes and jobs. Mr. Mellino McCoy and his friend from Canada returned on the 29th also Mrs. Sarah McCoy and Miss Dell McCoy. Travelling to N.Y. with them was little Karen Range to join her parents Mr. & Mrs. Wilbur Range. Wilbur himself spent Xmas here and returned on the 6th. Mr. & Mrs. Vybert Ebanks and Mr. David Ebanks also have returned after spending the holidays at home. Others arriving home for their vacation were Mr. Weddie Conolly, Mr. Trenvic Miller and Mrs. Richard Chisholm.

Mrs. Robert Ryder also came in for the New Year to visit her family. The m/v Chemical Trader called in on the 8th for a short time, giving the men Mr. Bryan Miller and Mr. Quinston Conolly from this district an opportunity of seeing their families. Leaving on the 8th were Lovene Miller and Lewis McField. Lewis has gone to take his little son Dennie to St. Christopher's School in Ja. Mr. Niven Miller has gone to Ja. for medical aid.
