The result will be 3,300 ft, of very desirable beach property with a minimum depth from sea to road of 300 feet. The Company is confident that once other land-owners throughout the island see what can be done, the entire South Sound/Red Bay area, as well as other such areas, will be similarly improved. The present operation has a twofold purpose in making valuable land of what is now not so desirable and,
at the same time, filling swamp which, will assist in mosquito eradication, The use of this amphibious dredge 'will make available for purchase, a large amount of sand which will assist builders and contractors in their problem of finding sufficient sand for building purposes. Looking into the future, Cayman Dredging Ltd, have made arrangements with Intra-Coastal Dredging at Daytona Beach, Fla, to make available a 12" heavy duty cutter-dredge when this has completed a Government Contract on which it is now engaged in Daytona, This is estimated to be within the next 4 to 6 months, Such a dredge will not only produce sand but be able to cut into the coral to produce marl. This Company's application for Pioneer Status will come before the Legislative Assembly at its next meeting.
