Mr. and Mrs. John C. Keyser of Birmingham, Michigan with their son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. David N. Keyser of Grand Rapids, Mich, made history on the 13th by being the first visitors to leave the Beach Club Colony and visit Rum Point, travelling all the way on a boat, The boat, the "Interest", is owned and operated by Mr. Solomon Ebanks of West Bay with Weston Ebanks as Mate. On the 13th, they started from the Beach Club at about 8 a.m. and travelled down the canal recently completed by Cayman Supply Co. Ltd., across the Sound to Rum Point and back, They did a bit of trolling and still fishing and returned with a good catch which included a jack, several barracudas, yellowtails, snapper and progis. Altogether it was judged to have been a very good day. This canal is 4,000 feet long, has an average depth of approximately 6 feet, and is the first waterway from the West Bay beach through to the Sound.
