Dr. Einil Khouri, the specialist surgeon who "has assumed the duties of Government Medical Officer in charge of the Government Hospital" has a wide range of qualifications and experience. He was born in St Andrew Jamaica and was educated at the St George's college, where he played football for his school's Second Eleven. He graduated with the B.Sc. degree cum laude from Boston College and he later attended the BostonUniversityMedical School. Dr. Khouri did his Internship at the Montreal General Hospital in Canada and later took up surgical residency for 5 years at Boston City hospital and in 1962 he became Chief Resident in Surgery there. The bespectacled doctor is a Fellow in Surgery at Cambridge City hospital. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a Certified Specialist in Surgery and a Diplomat of the American Boards of Surgery. For a time he was engaged in the Jamaica government medical service, specialising in surgery, but he is presently in private practice at the Medical Associates Private Hospital in Kingston where he has a flourishing practice. Dr. Khouri came to Cayman "on the urgent appeal by Dr. Parrish" after the Director of Medical Services Dr. Smith became ill, and the island was left without a government doctor, and there was only one doctor in private practice. Dr. Khouri's hobbies are golf bridge reading and swimming. He is not married.
