The "Used Stamps Feed the Hungry" campaign is going great guns here in Cayman. The couple who process the stamps and send them to their final destination are very surprised and pleased with the enormous response to the appeal which has been running weekly in the Caymanian. Many people are sending hundreds of used stamps into our office and since the Caymanian publicized the project the stamp intake has more than tripled. Right now over 5,000 stamps are being processed for delivery to their destination and the couple who started this project here in Cayman would like to publicly thank all the Caymanians who have so thoughtfully aided them by collecting and sending in the stamps. So, please keep saving stamps, they do help "FEED THE HUNGRY" of the world. Following is a letter received from Andrea Olson, Stamp Secretary for the Washington Northern Idaho Council of Churches. "Thank you very much for your good letter of September 28. We will be delighted to get the farthing stamps you mention in this letter, and if you send them to the Venice-Nakomis Presbyterian Church they will reach us in due time.

You will be interested to know that the three stamps you placed on your letter reached us in perfect condition -- so lightly canceled that they look like new. Please know that we deeply appreciate your help and cooperation on this project. In helping us, you are, in tum, helping CHURCH WORLD SERVICE and we are both most grateful to you. During the first eight months of this year (to September 1) we sold $6,381.17 worth of stamps -- all of these funds to aid CHURCH WORLD SERVICE in their huge benevolent task of helping the needy of the world. Early in Sept.

we sent them a check for $714, 10 to cover our stamp sales for the month of August, and in a few days we will be sending them a cheque for about the same amount to cover our sales for September. Again, our thanks and appreciation to you, for your continued support of this project -- the interest and effort of good friends like you have made it such a success. Please know that it was wonderful to hear direct from the faraway Cayman Islands! Best wishes. Most sincerely, Andrea Olson, Stamp Secretary.
