Raised within sight of the Liverpool docklands, John admits to a certain affinity for the underworld. Completing the unsavory trio is Richard Graham Taylor, alias "Dirty Dick," alias "Bruiser Taylor." The General Store is operated by Monsieur Felix Dulay, aided and abetted by his wife, Emilie, and their daughter, Marie Louise.
Mike Austin is Felix; Hazel Mackenzie is Emilie; and Kathy Burns the daughter, Marie Louise. Regular patrons of the Cayman Drama Society will remember Mike and Hazel in "Wait Until Dark." Kathy is our own "starlet" and we all are justly proud. Of course there has to be a villain and who better than Roderick Donaldson? As evil old Uncle Gaston Lemare, Roderick is enjoying himself thoroughly. He has in tow his nephew, Paul Cassagon. Paul plays an insipid, unlikeable young man and, YES -- you've guessed it, another character part for Keith Ball. Keith wishes it to be known that the rather strange accent which he is using isn't natural but is purely a figment of his director's twisted imagination
We think Keith is on to another winner here. Completing the cast are Jill Knights and Tony Staples.
This is a first time ever on stage for Jill, but as the interfering busybody, Madame Parole, you would never think it. Tony appears briefly as Lieutenant Espoir. You may recall his appearance in Worm's Eye View. Looks as if he can't keep out of uniform! The play is directed and produced by Andrew Jackson, whom you may have seen around town during the last few weeks muttering, "Never again, never again."
The stage and technical crew, without which there could be no play, is headed by Stage Manager Chris Evans. Full credits will appear in the programme. Tickets are on sale in Barclays Bank foyer and the dates for production are Dec. 7,8,9, 11 and 12 all at 8 p.m.
The show is entertainment for the entire family.
