A farce is a farce is a farce, and this is not a good one, but it is well done by the Drama Society under the able and enthusiastic direction of Mary Rees. The story line is almosts non-existant and the humour is laboured, however I did laugh and it was an enjoyable evening spent in the Town Hall, (George Town's answer to Drury Lane.)

Angela Crichton was superb. She started off a little shaky but then developed until her performance was probably the best I have seen from a female actress in Cayman since Val Morgan in Wait Until Dark. I have said before in these columns that comedy is not easy, but it seems to be to Angela. Well done!

Where has John Wotton been all this time, I said to myself, and what a pity we had to wait until the third act to see him. His timing was faultless and his double takes very funny.

I could write a book about Gail Shaw. She is good in any play in which she participates and she did not let us down in this one.

She worked extremely hard and turned in a first class performance. What a pity to waste such talent in Pool's Paradise.

I don't really want to upset Roger Moir (which means I am just about to) but I saw no justification whatsoever for casting him in drag. He did what was required of him very well, and I laughed with the rest, but he should not have been asked to do it in the first place. Roger can act, his only fault is allowing himself to be cast in the wrong parts. In the same vein, I wish the Drama Society would resist the temptation of going for cheap laughs. It doesn't work, (and I speak from experience) and your local references left us a bit cold. Any play must be left to stand on its own. Concentrate on the acting.

A very enjoyable evening and I can say do go see it, I am sure you will enjoy it.
