A large number of Civil Servants attended a dinner dance on Friday night in the South Sound Community Hall to honour retired civil servant, Harry McCoy, former Principal Secretary in the Department of Communication, Works and Local Administration.

The function was organised by the Entertainment Committee headed by Chairman Gilbert Conolly attached to the Customs Department at Owen Roberts Airport, and treasurer on the Management Council of the Civil Service Association. Conollywas assisted by other committee members, Rupert McCoy, Jenny Manderson and Kenny Smith. The honourary function started at 8.00 p.m. with dinner catered by Island Taste, followed by four speeches given by Vassell Johnson, Dennis Foster, Guilbert McLean and Harry McCoy. Master of Ceremonies for the occasion was Mr. McCoy's successor in the portfolio, Mr. Vernon Jackson.

After the speeches, Georgette Myrie of the Management Council made a presentation to the retired civil servant on behalf of all Government servicement personnel.

Dancing followed, with music provided by the Lonlies Combo and disco.
