Scotsman Stewart Cook first came to the Cayman Islands in the early fifties in connection with the Grand Cayman airport construction. After completion of that job he stayed on to become Director of the Public Works Department here. He held that position until his retirement in late 1976.
During his entire stay in these islands, he and his wife Agnes were active in the West Bay United Church, the previous Presbyterian Church of West Bay. He was a church Elder and treasurer until he left for medical treatment in England in late April this year.
He leaves to mourn his wife Agnes, three children, Mrs. Wendy Greenshields, Mrs. Linsey Hall, and Major Phillip Cook, as well as a wide circle of friends in Grand Cayman.
Mrs. Cook, proprietor of the Northwest Point Health Centre is expected to return to Grand Cayman next week.
