WIMBLEDON, England, (UPI) - Wimbledon tennis championship spokesmen said Wednesday that they could do nothing to prevent a recurrence of the centrecourt riot scenes which erupted Tuesday night when a women's doubles fourthround match was halted because of bad light.

Fans threw cushions and programmes onto the court when assistant tournament referee Alec Mills decided it was too dark to continue play.
