PEKING, REUTER - The world's tallest woman, eight feet, one inch Zeng Jinlian, died on February 13 at age of 17, the Peking Evening News said.

Miss Zeng, a peasant, died of diabetes at her Hunan province home after three months in hospital, it added. Miss Zeng, apparently still growing when she died, was seven feet, 10¾ inches (2.41 metres) tall last March when her illness was first reported here.

She is said to have been able to lift a 110 pound bag of cement at the age of five. She slept in a specially made eight-foot long bed and was listed in the Guinness Book of Records, a British-based annual listing records of all types.
