It is intended that the ambulance be used to rescue in areas of Grand Cayman not accessible to ordinary ambulances in the event of a natural disaster such ashurricane or flooding.
It will also be used by the Red Cross to cover sporting events such as the various 10K runs, the bikeathons and other events at which it is impractical to use the public ambulance service. The Masked Ball, to be held at The Harquail Centre at 8.00 p.m. on Friday 9 September is to be a grand affair with dinner being catered by Cook Rum, and music by Los Tropicanos!
Formed about 18 months ago, the Kiwaniannes have already established a reputation for raising funds for worthwhile causes such as the CASA Pride programme and the Gail Aiken wing at the Lighthouse school through entertaining events of an unusual nature.
