Local Kiwanians were told they were doing "a heck of a job" by a visiting Kiwanis Governor from Florida, Mr. Wally Hamrick who, with his wife Elsie, joined the club at their regular Friday meeting at the Pagoda Restaurant.

Mr. Hamrick quoted from the Bible to speak of "the love that shows itself in action," saying that "we as Kiwanians make the most use of our potential when we make things come to life." He cited projects such as the Smith Cove beautification and the Lighthouse School to show that it was "obvious that Kiwanis make a difference in this community."
