Trinidad's Calypso favourite, Princess Natasha Wilson, will be returning to the island for her second stint at the Rotary sponsored celebrations to sing at Friday night's street dance.
Although just 15 years old Princess Tasha is an old hand at performing. She won her very first competition on entering the calypso world at the tender age of 8 years old under the watchful eye of calypso kings, the Mighty Sparrow, and her father Daddy Sparrow.
She later went on to become Trinidad junior Calypso Monarch and a runner up in the national senior Calypso Monarch. arch contest.
The world stage has also fallen to her charms and for four year's running she has claimed the junior calypso queen of the world crown whilst runner up twice for the senior Queen contest.
Despite her continued presence in the bright lights she has not allowed fame to distract her from her eductaiuon and continues to devote time to schooling and hopes to go on to university. For the immediate future the girl, used to performing at New York's grand Madison Square Garden, will be doing a turn at the Albert Panton Street dance that starts from 6.30pm on Friday 26 accompanied by local favourites CMX 5 and Kayman Edition.
