MADRID, Spain (AP) - Two Cubans were found dead inside the landing gear of an Iberia Air Lines of Spain DC-10 plane after it landed at Barajas airport Monday on a flight from Havana, airport officials said.

Officials said the two Cubans were apparently stowaways. Their identification papers listed their names as Jose Manuel Acebedo Cardenas, 20, and Alepis Hernandez Chacon, 19, both from Havana.

The bodies were found by an electrician doing maintainence on the plane before its next scheduled flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico later Monday, officials said.

Officials said temperatures outside a plane flying at a height of 10,000 metres (33,000 feet) would fall to minus 55 degrees Celsius.
