Mama Toto is The Body Shop's new range of pure, natural products exclusively designed for mums-to-be, and mothers and babies.

Each of the creams and lotions in this collection is wholly based on plant and vegetable extracts, specially blended to meet the specific needs of babies' delicate, often dry skin, and to relieve the stresses and strains suffered by their mums.

The Mama Toto baby collection includes wipes; a special bottom cream with camomile and wheatgerm oil to protect against soreness; an oil for moisturising and softening dry patches with marigold, peanut and soyabean oils; and a baby powder whose active ingredients are corn and maize starch and oat protein.

Other products for babies incorporate an extra-mild shampoo, bath and massage oil, aloe lotion, soap, and wash bags.

In Samoa in the South Pacific, pregnant women were traditionally massaged with cocoa butter. Hence The Body Shop's Cocoa Butter Stick for relieving the stretched areas of skin under pressure during pregnancy, such as breasts, stomach and thighs. Also designed for expectant mums is Relaxing Massage Oil, which calms and soothes the skin and relieves tension on aching limbs, and Cool Leg Gel, which cools and refreshes tired legs and aching feet.

There is also an aloe vera-, honey- and cocoabutter-based Nipple Cream, for soothing and softening nipples after feeding, plus a Relaxing Bath Powder.
