LONDON (AP) - Chris Sutton's first-ever hat trick gave Norwich its first win in three games, keeping the Canaries' championship hopes alive with a 4-2 victory over Leeds Wednesday in England's Premier League.

In a wide-open first half, Sutton got his first goal with a header off Mark Bowen's cross. ing pass 11 minutes into the game. His goal tied the score after Lee Chapman had put Leeds ahead at the three-minute mark.

Sutton struck again in the 14th minute when he rebounded Mark Robins' blocked shot into the net from close range. Three minutes later, Dave Phillips' penalty gave Norwich a 3-1 advantage. Leeds struck back two minutes into the second half with a goal from Rod Wallace before Sutton got his third in the 79th minute.

With five games remaining, third-place Norwich has 68 points in 39 games four points behind leader Manchester United and three points behind Aston Villa, who each have played 38. games.

In a key Division One battle Wednesday, Leicester picked up three vital points in 3-0 win over Millwall. The victory gave fifth-place Leicester some breathing room in the hunt for a playoff spot, while Millwall, in seventh, still needs to gain one place in the standings to qualify for a chance at promotion.
