Gaza (Reuters) - Leading Palestinians met in the presence of U.S. President Bill Clinton on Monday to reaffirm the nullification of clauses in the PLO charter calling for Israel's destruction.

About 1,000 people, more than 450 of them members of the Palestine National Council parliament-in-exile, gathered in self-ruled Gaza in the face of an Israeli demand for a vote to annul the clauses in the 1960s charter.
