Cable and Wireless will use the company's Centigram Short Message Service Center system to transmit text and Internet services in the British Caribbean territory, the company said.
The service will have about 6,700 users in the Cayman Islands, the company said. Centigram is based in San Jose, California.

Earlier this year, Centigram signed a contract to supply messaging servers for Cable and Wireless affiliates around the world.
