Ducks replace sheep in dog trials
Edinburgh (Reuters) - Scottish sheep dogs have taken to herding ducks for lack of sheep.

A sheep dog show at the Scottish Wool Centre at
Aberfoyle faced a crisis because sheep were not available due to the foot-and-mouth disease sweeping tracts of rural Britain. So the wool center near Ster-
ling in central Scotland replaced its usual sheep with 10 Indian Runner ducks.

Now the dogs show off their skills herding the ducks around a field and into pens.
"The ducks have become so popular, we are thinking about making them a permanent part of the show," head shepherd Fergus Wood told Reuters on Friday.
