Britain takes three golds in World Championships
Denmark (AP) - Natalja Tsylinskaja of Belarus became the first two-time gold medalist at the cycling World Track Cycling Championships by winning the women's sprint race on Saturday.

Competing at the new Siemens Arena velodrome, Tsylinskaja beat Kerrie Meares of Australia 2-0 in the final. Katrin Meinke won the
cycling
raceoff for bronze, beating fellow German Kathrin Freitag.

Tsylinskaja's first gold came in the 500-meter time trial Thursday.

Tammy Thomas of the United States, a silver medalist last year, did not compete after the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency recently banned her for life because she tested positive for a prohibited substance for the second time.
Chris Newton won the men's 30-kilometer points race for Britain's third gold in the championships. It was his first world title and came the day after helping Britain to a bronze-medal finish in the team pursuit.

Britain is second in the medal standings with three gold, one silver and bronze. Australia leads with a 3-3-4 record. The championships end Sunday.
Franz Stocher of Austria was second in the points race with Juan Curuchet of Argentina third. Swiss rider Bruno Risi, who won his fourth points title last year, wound up fourth.

Russia's Olga Slioussareva defended her championship in the women's point race, finishing ahead of Lada Kozlikova of the Czech Republic and Vera Carrara of Italy.
