Fresh on the heels of launching pre-paid roaming to the Caribbean, Digicel has announced that roaming to Cuba is now available to its postpaid customers. Among Cayman's telecom providers, Digicel is the first to offer roaming to Cuba, which now joins a list of over 100 countries with which the company has roaming agreements, states a Digicel press release.

Noting that many people travel from Cayman to Cuba, Digicel's CEO, Mr. JD Buckley said that the new service provides customers with the added convenience of being able to use their phones while on trips to that country.

"Digicel's introduction of roaming to Cuba is part of our ongoing. ing commitment to be the number one mobile provider in the Cayman Islands," Mr. Buckley added.

Mr. Buckley outlined the benefits of the Digicel group's extensive roaming partnerships for Cayman customers: "One of the main advantages of Digicel's GSM technology is roaming. Digicel has a very strong roaming partnership network, with 165 roaming partners in over 100 countries."

Mr. Buckley noted that new roaming partners are added on a continual basis and Digicel's roaming partner network extends to other countries frequently visited by Cayman residents, such as the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom as well as countries throughout Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America.

"We have recognised that the Cayman resident is very cosmopolitan with travel on both business and for pleasure being commonplace. With Digicel's roaming service, Cayman residents can easily and conveniently stay in contact with home," Mr. Buckley said.

Digicel customers on digiSELECT and digiSELECT WORLD postpaid packages can dial 100 on their mobile phones to find out how to activate roaming service. Pre-paid roaming, another first for Digicel, has been available to Jamaica, Aruba, Barbados, Grenada, St. Vincent & the Grenadines and St. Lucia since 16th August.
