CIMA: Howard Blacker

Mr. Howard Blacker, whose prior appointments have included positions with the United States Treasury, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas, Resolution Trust Corporation and the International Monetary Fund, will take up the post of deputy managing director, supervision, of the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority on 6 April. He will assist the managing director on matters relating to the supervision of regulated financial institutions and will have direct responsibility for CIMA’s four supervisory divisions: Banking, Fiduciary Services, Insurance and Investments and Securities. As a member of the senior leadership, he will participate in the ongoing development and implementation of CIMA’s strategic plan. Part of Mr Blacker’s remit will also be to train a Caymanian successor for the post.
