Logic is the new name for WestTel in the Cayman Islands. As a wholly owned subsidiary of KeyTech Ltd., the Logic brand builds on solid foundations established since WestTel’s inception in 2003, as a provider of innovative, high quality communications solutions for Business, Government and Residential customers in the Cayman Islands.

As part of a Group who have been providing Communications services for over a century, Logic is looking forward to its next phase of growth.

“The economies that can be achieved between our business and other Group subsidiaries will mean better control of our collective cost base, enhancing our ability to develop and deploy world class solutions in the Cayman Islands. We also intend to take full advantage of the established relationships that KeyTech have with global powerhouses such as Verizon”, said Michael Edenholm, Chief Executive Officer of Logic. Edenholm went on to say, “These changes will solidify our presence in Cayman and drive our ability to deliver world class solutions with outstanding customer service.”

The changes have come about as a result of KeyTech’s purchase, from WestStar TV, of outstanding shares in WestTel. KeyTech has a rich history spanning more than a century, in Bermuda where the Group operates Mobility, Landline, ISP, IT Services, Directory and Cable TV businesses. Further demonstration of KeyTech’s rich communications heritage comes through its recent deployment of the Challenger undersea cable system, which connects Bermuda with the USA, providing tangible benefits for the country’s infrastructure.

Here in Cayman, that same heritage and commitment will see deployment of the George Town phase of Logic’s fibre optic network, offering businesses within this key district real connectivity choice for the very first time. Ducting and fibre cable entirely separate from other providers, will offer real solutions to the ongoing challenges surrounding network diversity and IT compliance, so critical in offshore jurisdictions.

Lewie Hydes, Chief Operating Officer comments, “Following the outstanding success of our initial rollout, which now provides service to key commercial and residential properties along West Bay Road, we are excited by the challenge of deploying in George Town. The deployment satisfies a real need for infrastructure diversity in the area, and will help us develop and deliver cutting edge, Voice, Data and Hosted solutions. We are also delighted that the project will provide much needed employment for local contractors. “

So please look out for Logic in the coming weeks. Their commitment to helping Cayman connect with the world continues and you’ll be hearing more from them very soon.
