Disney has announced that its newest ship will visit Cayman in 2012.
The Disney Fantasy will be deployed from Port Canaveral, Florida, as of 31 March, 2012. She will alternate between seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises.
The seven-night Western Caribbean cruises will bring guests to Key West, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Mexico and Castaway Cay, which is Disney’s private island in the Bahamas.
The ship, which can hold 4,000 passengers and 1,450 crew, is the latest in Disney’s fleet, following the Magic and Dream cruise ships. There are 14 decks dressed in gold, pink, blue and green Art Nouveau style.
There will also be an enormous bronze sculpture of Minnie Mouse, in vintage clothing, in the atrium lobby. The Aladdin musical will be performed in the ship’s 1,340-seat theatre.
The ship also includes a European-style Entertainment District with nightclubs, bars and pubs, such as The Tube, a dance club inspired by London’s underground railway, Irish pub O’Gills and a champagne bar called Ooh La La.
The seven-night Eastern Caribbean legs will include St. Maarten, St. Thomas/St. John, US Virgin Islands and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.
