Celebrating the arrival of 2012 on 7 Mile Beach was joyous, fun, awesome and celebratory. The exhilaration of the evening evaporated the next day when my husband and I went on a short walk down the beach at 3pm on New Years Day.
Our glorious beach was littered below the water line with debris from the night’s community party.
I’m all for partying and having fun, but for the sake of our precious and alluring beach and water – CLEAN UP AFTERWARDS!
Even that late in the day we spent almost an hour picking up trash or tossing it far above the waterline. I implore the readers and their friends to respect our earth and by doing so, honour themselves and their families.
