There is growing disaffection amongst football coaches in the Cayman Islands with how the football association is conducting the business aspect of the leagues.
One coach, who insisted on staying anonymous, said that football club executives in the Cayman Islands need to get more involved in the business aspect. The Cayman Islands Football Association executive members are doing almost everything for the game here and that is not the way it supposed to be, he said. He added that some blame Jeffery Webb because he is the president but the clubs do have a congress. But the congress only meets about once a year and that is at the annual general meeting.
There are issues that should be discussed by congress during the competition period that cannot be left until the AGM, he feels.
Another coach believes that there is a problem with the lack of assistant referees for youth games and referees showing up half an hour late or not at all on some occasions for youth games and that should not be tolerated. He agrees with the first coach that there should be proper profiling of young, talented players for their future development and the future of the national football programme. He also said that there should be more unity between executive members of the eight Premier League clubs.
