Pascal trains again

Caymanian Alexander Pascal not only excels in javelin, but in the classroom as well.

The 19-year-old Caymanian is studying for a business management degree at University of Missouri and has been named to the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll. The Cayman Islands javelin record holder is one of 12 freshman to earn the honor.

His father, Richard, said Alex has a grade point average of 3.35. Richard also said Alex is progressing nicely from an elbow injury that kept him out of the Commonwealth Games and doctors allowed him to resume training this week.

Pascal will not be competing till next season and will focus on competing more for his university than in Cayman as the overall competition will be much higher.

“So for now he is working along with his coach to condition him back slowly into things,” Richard Pascal said.
