Generous donors have given $8,600
to the children of George Town Primary School to help pay for lunches,
breakfasts and uniforms.
The Lean on Me Committee organised
the fundraising drive and handed over a cheque to school officials on Sunday
afternoon.
Principal Marie Martin said the
money could not have come at a better time.
“We want to thank the Lean on Me
Committee for doing this. It comes at a time when everybody is feeling the
economic crunch.
“The money will go towards lunches
and breakfasts and school uniforms for families in need,” she said.
