Local artist and educator Nasaria Suckoo Chollette won first place in both the photography and poetry competitions run by the Women’s Resource Centre for Honouring Women’s Month.
The competitions pulled in 35 entries. All submissions addressed the theme of this year’s HWM observance ‘Celebrating Our Diversity’.
The six winners received their prizes at the International Women’s Day celebration hosted by the Women’s Resource Centre at Casanova’s by the Sea Thursday.
