A week of parties at JAC 360ø

Jet Around Cayman organisers have released the details of a week of exclusive celebrations ringing in its 11th annual race.

JAC will this year feature a list of parties, ranging from soca street fetes to nightclub soiree’s to one just for the teens. Here, get familiar with the entire line-up and make sure your calendar is marked.

JAC kicks off with a bang on this evening, with the annual Fantasy Friday fete on Cardinall Avenue. George Town.

The event will feature Caribbean soca star Bunji Garlin alongside the explosive sounds of The Asylum Band.

Bunji appeared on the horizon in 1998 with his breakthrough hit single ‘Send Dem Rhythm Crazy’. By the following year, he was signed to the IP International Recording Label, which is to date the most successful Soca music label worldwide. In 2002, Bunji won his first International Soca Monarch title, that time sharing it with another legendary soca act, Iwer George. In 2004, however, Bunji won the title outright with his now classic ‘Warrior Cry’ and he successfully defended the title in 2005 with a fiery performance of ‘Blaze It Up.’ On his visit to Cayman, Bunji will also be celebrating the release of his seventh studio album, ‘Global.’

On Friday, 15 June, the fun continues with Jet Around Gone Wild at Margaritaville in George Town. ‘Hip hop and reggae kings’ DJs Von and Dominic of Vibe 98.9 FM will host this hip hop and reggae jam, also featuring DJ Lin of Coalition.

According to organizers, this event is a casual chance to meet the riders and hear some of the music of this year’s event. Partiers are encouraged to wear their ‘beach sexy’ clothes and vie for a chance to splash around in the VIP Pool with the JAC models.

On the following Saturday, the teens of Cayman will get their chance to ‘jump up’ for JAC at the JAC 360 Teens for Teens Jam at King’s Sports Centre, featuring DJs Stephen King, Neil Sam and Von of Vibe 98.9 FM. The event is also a safe driving fundraiser for Streetskill, Cayman’s safe driving initiative.

‘We felt it was important to use this opportunity to address a cause, which is really hitting Cayman’s youth and that’s safe driving,’ states Kenny Rankin of Jet Around Cayman. ‘This is a fun and safe way for our teens to enjoy Jet Around Cayman.’
