Department of Tourism sales representatives, Cayman Airways In-flight and members of the Cayman Islands Tourism Association visited more than 300 travel agents throughout the Northeast and New York City Metro area during May.
These meetings provided an opportunity for them to promote the exciting news of Cayman Airways new, non-stop service from JFK to Grand Cayman, as well as Cayman’s summer promotion, Cayman Summer Splash, said a press release.
‘The Sales Blitz wrapped up with two incredible evenings which provided great opportunities for personal selling and networking,’ the release explained. On 2 May, approximately 200 travel agents attended a dinner event hosted by the DoT. The evening began with a trade show and reception, followed by a meal aboard the World Yacht Princess as it cruised around Manhattan. Festivities continued the next night when DoT hosted a similar dinner for more than 100 travel agents at the Garden City Hotel in Long Island, N.Y.
Betz Williams from Colonial Travel noted how great it was to hear that Cayman is truly ‘open for business’ for those travelling from New York.
