The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority has established itself as the premier Government Football Team in the Cayman Islands. After putting a damper on the Fire team, only one obstacle stood in their way: Customs Enforcers. The title eluded them last year as Fire took top honours in the popular Government Football League. Not this time, however.
As the game went on it became obvious that no team was going to have an easy win. Customs dominated the second half in terms of ball-possession, but in the dying minutes of the game, a Customs player was called for a hand ball and the referee awarded CIMA a penalty kick. CIMA’s Vince Kelly would not leave fans disappointed as he scored a marvelous shot that sealed the victory for the Monetary Authority.
