Scotland selected for international honour

Cindy Scotland, Managing Director of the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, was among a select few of businesspersons to be honoured with membership in the International Association of Business Leaders this year.

A nominee for the Association’s annual ‘Business Leader of the Year Award’, Ms Scotland was granted Association membership in May upon review of her qualifications by the Award Selection Committee, according to a press release from the authority.

According to the association, its mission is to provide exceptionally qualified businesspersons the opportunity to improve communications and relations with their peers around the globe. The association only awards membership to business and professional leaders around the globe who have been identified for their leadership skills in the increasingly complex world of international business.

In selecting Ms Scotland for membership, the association recognised her prominence in the global business arena. Ms Scotland is the chief financial services regulator for more than 7,700 supervised entities and the primary custodian and controller of currency in the world’s fifth-largest international financial centre.

The association also noted Ms. Scotland’s active representation at high-level international financial regulatory meetings on behalf of the Cayman Islands and her regular contributions to leading financial publications.
