Machine readable passports

Cayman Airways is reminding all travellers to the United States that effective 26 June they must have a machine-readable passport to enter the US without a visa.

Robert C. Bonner, Commissioner for US Customs and Border Protection, urges everyone who is travelling to the US to check their documents to ensure that they have a machine-readable passport as well as other proper documentation to enter the US, says a CAL press release.

Passengers with immediate plans to travel to the US who are unable to obtain a machine-readable passport prior to travel may apply for a US Visa at a US Consulate or Embassy as an alternative.

Cayman Airways’ current schedule offers travellers eight weekly round-trip flights between Grand Cayman and Kingston where the US Embassy is open Monday to Friday (except for holidays, US and local) from 7.30am to 4pm.

‘Cayman Airways wants to ensure that its passengers are in full compliance with these travel requirements,’ states the release.
