Inclement weather short-circuited their last attempt but a car group hopes to put on their next event this weekend.
The Cayman Auto Enthusiasts Association will look to put on its second gathering of 2011. Titled ‘Bring the Bass,’ the event is scheduled for this Saturday 3 September.
AL Thompson’s in George Town will host the action from 7pm (registration gets going from 6.30pm).
There will be a Sound Pressure Level competition across three categories, a ‘Park and Pound’ category, a loudest exhaust segment and a sound clash section.
All of the various competitions focus on car audio levels and decibel readings for various auotomotive noises.
Among the prizes on offer is a Sundown SA-8 subwoofer (which can be won by correctly guessing the loudness of the device).
News of Saturday’s meet comes after the last gathering at Breakers Speedway was rained out in July. Titled ‘Beating Down Yo Block’ that meet was slated to honour Brandon Powery, who tragically passed away in June.
