Throughout this year so far St. Ignatius Key Club has been working to raise funds for several causes including the Cayman Hospice Care.
The club had piqued an interest in hospice care when one of the members had found out that the government only provides the hospice care 14 per cent of it’s funds.
The club had run bake sales and a special school dress-down day in order to raise funds for the cause.
They managed to raise over $400, and on Wednesday, 20 April, the Key Club’s officers – President Ann-Alecia Moore, Vice President Aisling Fleming, Secretary Chynna Retumban, Treasurer Lexie Anglin, and Editor Lisa Evans – gladly handed over the check to a hospice associate.
The club’s treasurer Lexie Anglin said: “I’m glad we were able to raise so much. It’s a great feeling to know that we may be kids, but we can really make a difference.”
