The Civil Aviation Authority of the Cayman Islands issued a safety advisory last week reminding air operators, passengers and crew that they are banned from taking Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones on to planes.
The phones are subject to a worldwide recall after several spontaneously caught fire or exploded.
According to the latest advisory from the aviation authority, any traveler on an aircraft is prohibited from carrying the Note 7 smartphone on their person, in carry-on or checked baggage or as cargo, effective from Oct. 15.
