The North Side Heritage Day held at Kaibo public beach proved a big draw for youngsters with several school groups making the trek to the district event on Friday, Nov. 18, for a day filled with fun and discovery.
“We had so many kids and school groups, and they got to enjoy free catboat rides, free face painting and a bouncy castle,” said North Side Pirates Week Committee secretary Felisiana Ebanks.
“Among the many booths we had set up, Edna M. Moyle Primary School had carnival games; there were also two craft displays, and the botanic park had a demonstration on growing provisions the way people used to back in the old days,” she added.
At night, the festivities continued with fireworks, a bonfire lighting and a party.
“The event was extremely well attended,” said Ms. Ebanks.
“We are really happy to have so many people come out to learn about and enjoy the heritage of North Side.”
