Three male gymnasts traveled to Chicago for the Windy City Invitational, Jan. 18-21, competing against thousands of gymnasts from across the U.S.
All three athletes competed in all six Olympic gymnastics events.
Level 7 gymnast Karthik Adapa, Level 6 Kaleb Woolaver and Level 4 Alex Hare performed new routines that they will continue to develop through the 2018 competition season.
Highlights were Karthik placing sixth on vault, and Alex having 5 top-3 finishes and placing second in the all-around competition.
Coach Doran Zimmerman said, “I am very proud of each boy for the hard work they have endured in the gym [over] the past few months in preparation. Their dedication really paid off and it showed.”
Senior athlete Karthik had a tough session but managed to hold his own after a rough start on the high bar. For Alex, this was his very first international competition and a great way to start his gymnastics career.
Both the boys and girls teams will travel to Florida in March to compete at the Gasparilla Classic.
