Youth Convention calls on young people to stay on course with God

Attendees of the Wesleyan Holiness Church recite a pledge of allegiance to the Bible.

The ninth annual district Wesleyan Youth Convention began on Wednesday 21 Oct., at the Craddock Ebanks Civic Centre in North Side.

This year, the theme of the four-day youth convention is “On Course with God, #livingmybestlife”.

“This world is filled with distractions, and if we are not careful, we can easily lose ourselves in the madness that surrounds us daily,” said Cassandra Ebanks the Cayman Islands District Wesleyan Youth President. “To get on course and remain on course with God, we have to be intentional about developing and maintaining that relationship with Him.”

Youth Minister Bernie Bush was also in attendance encouraged the youth to follow church teachings.

“What I think the entire focus of the convention is telling us is that when you follow God’s direction and plans for you, you will end up blessed and living your best life,” said minster Bush.

“Truly, the only way young people can live their best life, is to live for Jesus Christ,” said Reverend Conway King, the District Superintendent of Cayman Islands Wesleyan Holiness Church.

He added, “My prayer is that this youth convention would reach as many of our young people through the entire Cayman Islands and around the world.”
