A motorist involved in a single-vehicle crash in Bodden Town on Wednesday night has died.
Police said Seamard Green, 43, of Bodden Town, passed away in the Cayman Islands Hospital at 10:15am on Friday.
The RCIPS Traffic and Roads Policing Unit is continuing to appeal for witnesses to the fatal crash, which occurred on Shamrock Road, in the vicinity of Valley Drive, just before midnight on Wednesday, 16 Feb.
Following the crash, the Cayman Islands Fire Service extricated Green, who was trapped inside the vehicle. Suffering burns and a serious head wound, he was taken to hospital and underwent surgery, but succumbed to his injuries Friday morning.
Police said that initial reports show that the vehicle was travelling east along Shamrock Road towards Bodden Town when it veered to the other side of the road and overturned, coming to a stop in bushes on the side of the road.
